On the occasion of the commemoration of the World Architecture Day, this year today 4th October, the International Union of Architects organizes a panel discussion with experts from around the world under the theme “Clean environment for a healthy world”, online, at 12:00 GMT.
Created by the UIA in 1985, World Architecture Day is celebrated annually on the first Monday of October in parallel with UN World Habitat Day.
This year’s theme, “Clean environment for a healthy world” addresses housing, public spaces and global environmental issues in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and will hopefully contribute to the global conversation on the 2030 Development Agenda.
With opening remarks by UIA President José Luis Cortés, the webinar’s keynote speaker will be Dr. Margaret Chan, founding Dean of Tsinghua University Vanke School of Public Health and former Director-General of World Health Organization (WHO). Martha Thorne, Dean of IE School of Architecture & Design in Spain will moderate the event.
The event will feature presentations from:
