Book launch: The Watergate: Inside America’s Most Infamous Address
10th April 2019, MAXXI, Rome, Italy
DATE: 10/5/2019
The MAXXI museum, in Rome, will be holding a book launch for "The Watergate: Inside America’s Most Infamous Address", by Joseph Rodota, on the 10th of April.

The launch of this publication, which shines a light on Luigi Moretti´s Watergate complex in Washington D.C. and its residents, will count with the participation of Joseph Rodota, the author of the book; Emma Tagliacollo, from Docomomo Italy and Anthony Majanlahti, historian and critic.

"The Watergate complex was built by the Italian company Società Generale Immobiliare to the designs of the Italian architect Luigi Moretti, one of the most inventive and widely admired Italian rationalist architects of the fascist period. From its inauguration in 1965, the Watergate building was one of Washington’s most fashionable addresses, a refuge for the most powerful brokers of both political parties and the epicentre of a scandal that led to the downfall of a president.
In Watergate the writer and political consultant Joseph Rodota paints a vivid portrait of this iconic building and describes the dynamic figures that have inhabited it. The Watergate residents – an intriguing cast of politicians, journalists, socialites and spies – have been at the centre of American political storms for half a century."
