An extremely careful edition brings together the articles derived from the papers presented at the symposium on the figure of Mies van der Rohe and the German Pavilion of the International Exhibition of Barcelona in 1929 curated by Juan José Lahuerta and Celia Marín on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of its reconstruction. Texts that include the latest research by the most outstanding specialists: Remei Capdevila-Werning, Beatriz Colomina, Laura Martinez de Guereñu, Dietrich Neumann, Fritz Neumeyer, Spyros Papapetros, Carmen Rodríguez Pedret and Lutz Robbers, with special emphasis on the genesis of the pavilion, the extraordinary creative moment of Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich, the analysis of the historical and cultural and the value of its reconstruction.

No other critical study provides a comparable overview of Mies´s work in Barcelona. This profusely illustrated book presents unpublished images of the pavilion, which complete the visions of internationally recognized Miesian experts, accompanied by new authoritative voices that will revive interest in one of the works, which has become a myth, most influential of the 20th century."
