The book is about the life and works of Indonesia’s most celebrated figure in architecture, Friedrich Silaban. His career spanned from 1930s, the last decade of the Netherlands East Indies, until early 1980s. At his peak, Silaban designed national landmarks in Jakarta such as the Istiqlal National Mosque, the headquarter for Bank Indonesia, and many others monumental stately structures.

The publication is a result from a decade effort of inventory, archive preservation, and research by the author supported by modern Asian Architecture Network (mAAN) and several other institutions. The initial release is currently pubished in Bahasa Indonesia, while the English translation is underway.
