Soft Launching: On-line Repository and Museum
6th March 2017, Jakarta, Indonesia
DATE: 6/3/2017
Indonesia has launched the beta version of the first ever repository dedicated for architecture in Indonesia, in Jakarta at March 6th, 2017.
The initiative was started with a real concern on how to collect, preserve, access, and diseminate the wealth of resources contained in the fragile and troublesome nature of architectural archive. With limited available resources, Pusat Dokumentasi Arsitektur Indonesia or PDA (Indonesian Center for Architecture Documentation) cooperates with architects/ curators Setiadi Sopandi and Avianti Armand established an on-line platform which functions as a repository as well as a virtual museum accessible to general public.
For the premier, publishes the archive of Friedrich Silaban, Rumah Asuh, Arsitek Muda Indonesia, Andra Matin, Indonesia Pavilion at the 14th International Architecture Exhibition at La Biennale di Venezia 2014, and Tropicality: Revisited exhibition in Frankfurt 2015.
During the soft launching event, PDA gave tokens of appreciation to the archive owners/ custodians for their supports for the initiative and enabling the public to access the archive freely.
The website is a non-profit, entirely free, service which enables general public to use all the materials under Creative Common licensing.

The website is in Indonesian.
