"The 2016 ICOMOS-BRAZIL Scientific Symposium will present an overview of the discussions on the heritage in our country, from conferences and round tables that will bring together experts who will bring an idea of ​​the state of the art of the national debate, as well as the memory of the action Of ICOMOS-BRAZIL in these debates.In this sense, this event is of the highest importance, inaugurating a series of scientific symposiums that will take place annually in Brazil, with the support of ICOMOS International, which brings together the worlds leading cultural heritage experts and advises UNESCO on issues of world Heritage.With this event, a specialized forum of discussion and debate about heritage will be created in our country, helping to advance the state of the art in this field, in which architects and urban planners have outstanding performance. With the greater promotion and standardization of this area, it will be possible to guarantee a more qualified performance of the professionals in what refers to the cultural patrimony.Each year, in addition to revisiting the fundamentals of the area, the event will focus on a specific theme, which will receive more attention. The theme chosen and 2017 is post-disaster reconstruction - which takes up the theme discussed by the International ICOMOS Symposium and is of special relevance in our country."
