Docomomo International wishes you a happy new year 2016!

docomomo International wish you to thank you for making 2015 an exceptional year and for all your efforts and support! A special thank to our sponsors (CML and IST), to all the chapters and their teams, to our partners, institutional and individual members. docomomo International could not continue its work without your invaluable collaboration.

We are glad to highlight some of the accomplishments of 2015:

The inaugural event of docomomo International Headquarters in Lisbon took place within the Internationaldocomomo Seminar & Tour "Rehabilitation and Reuse of Modern Movement Architecture", at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, on 27-28 March 2015. The event was a great success resulting in the recognition of the importance of docomomo International both in global and national levels.

The docomomo Member Card was implemented at the beginning of the year, with the intention of providing members with more advantages on their membership. Agreements with cultural institutions whose work is related to Modern Movement were established all across the globe, so that members can benefit from special conditions when visiting them.

The depth and the breadth of the reuse and rehabilitation subjects have challenged docomomo International to edit 2015 docomomo Journals issues on it: docomomo Journal 52 - Reuse, Renovation and Restoration anddocomomo Journal 53 - LC - 50 Years After, as a tribute to Le Corbusier on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his death. docomomo Journal 53 was launched at Tokyo Bunkakaikan, on 2 November, and at Maison La Roche – Fondation Le Corbusier, in Paris, on 9 November.

The forthcoming International docomomo Conference is being hosted by docomomo International and will take place at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, in Lisbon, from 6 to 9 September 2016, under the theme “Adaptive Reuse. The Modern Movement Towards the Future”.
The Call for Sessions and the Call for Papers were held. 29 Sessions, from 76, and 143 abstracts, from 516, were selected.
For the keynote lectures we have the pleasure of having the confirmation of Álvaro Siza, Juhani Pallasmaa, Anne Lacaton & Jean Philippe Vassal, Joan Busquets and Winfried Brenne.

The docomomo virtual exhibition (MoMove) was launched. The website – exhibition.docomomo.com – offers a selection of 2000 buildings and sites of the Modern Movement, curate by architects, historians and other professionals from docomomo chapters and members. This is a unique database for its geographic reach and number of works and is always in constant transformation, counting on docomomo members around the world for its continuous development. Based on a world map, the user can search any building or architect, discover essential data, filter information by keywords, find image galleries and videos. The buildings can be shared on major social networks or commented directly. The MoMove also functions as a mobile app (web) making it easy to use while traveling and visiting a proposed tour within a close area or topic of interest.

In order to continue participating in the worldwide effort to identify, record and preserve the architecture of the Modern Movement and to benefit from all the advantages that docomomo International is preparing to 2016, we would like to invite you to renew your membership to docomomo International until 15 January

docomomo International wishes you a happy new year 2016!
