14TH INTERNATIONAL DOCOMOMO CONFERENCE
The 14th International Docomomo Conference – “Adaptive Reuse. The Modern Movement Towards the Future” – took place in Lisbon, at Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, from 6th to the 9th September 2016, with 496 participants from 58 countries. It was a pleasure to count with the commitment and knowledge of all the participants to wisely contribute for the debate on adaptive reuse.
PUBLICATION: ADAPTIVE REUSE
The Proceedings of the 14th International Docomomo Conference were published, gathering together the 29 sessions and 130 papers presented in the Conference. The publication is available for purchase at the docomomo Shop Online: http://www.docomomo.com/shop/node/90.
INTERNATIONAL DOCOMOMO WORKSHOP 2016
The International Docomomo Workshop - “The Adaptive Reuse of Lisbon riverside area: the MMC case study” was held in Lisbon, at Técnico – University of Lisbon, from 1st to 5th September 2016.
The workshop brought together 30 architects and 87 students from the 5 continents, to discuss the future of the Manutenção Militar Complex (MMC), in Lisbon.
Doco Tours were held through Portugal: Contemporary Lisbon (4 September), Modern Lisbon (5 September) and North of Portugal (10-12 September).

DOCOMOMO JOURNALS 54 & 55
The depth and the breadth of the reuse and rehabilitation subjects have challenged Docomomo International to edit Docomomo Journal 54 - Housing Reloaded (guest-edited by Franz Graf and Giulia Marino) and the Conference taking place in Lisbon, Docomomo Journal 54 – Modern Lisbon (guest-edited by João Belo Rodeia).
In order to continue participating in the worldwide effort to identify, record and preserve the architecture of the Modern Movement and to benefit from all the advantages of the DOCOMOMO International membership, we ask you to renew your membership until 15 January 2017.
