Demolished: Cockenzie Power Station

The demolition threat case, published earlier in September, ended up unfavourably for all Modern architecture enthusiasts.
Unfortunately, the boiler house at Cockenzie Power Station was demolished by explosives on Thursday, ending the dismantling of one of the east coast´s best known structures.The demolition marked the last phase in the two-year process of decommissioning the Cockenzie Power Station.
The boiler house opened in 1967 and was at that time the largest in Scotland.
