DATE: 18/2/2015
"In the latter half of 2014, the Scottish Provident building, a category B listed, Modernist building in Edinburgh“s city centre, a World Heritage Site, was demolished to make way for real estate development. Now, another demolition proposal, involving architecturally interesting buildings from the 19th and 20th century in the same area of the city, has been made public. Buildings on St. Andrew Square, West Register Street and South St. Andrew Street are to make way for a £60m redevelopment project. They include the demolition of a category B listed building from the 1850s and a set of 1960s buildings. Plans also include the restoration of a category A neo-classical building and a category B Venetian Gothic building."
