"Built around a series of educational and spectacular films of de la Société des Entreprises Boussiron, this exhibition celebrates one of the pioneers in the field of reinforced concrete construction. Recently digitized by the City of Architecture and Heritage, the 24 films shown here cover a significant number of Boussiron achievements spanning over thirty years. Founded in 1899 by engineer Simon Boussiron, which publishes in 1900 an article presenting the general formulas compression and bending of reinforced concrete, the company works at first mainly for railways before receiving the order books art increasingly important. Active in France and in North Africa between the wars, it specializes in the thirties, in bridges and aircraft hangars. [...]
Filmed testimonies of various workers in the Boussiron company and architectural historian allow us to share more of the history of the company, to take the measure of its complexity and understand the strong identity that the company was able to forge along an intense life over the major changes of the twentieth century."
