Conference: Critical Distance Returns with MVRDV
11 November, 7 pm, Main Auditorium of CCB, Lisbon, Portugal
Jacob van Rijs, co-founder of MVRDV, is the next to come on stage of CCB´s Main Auditorium. Invited by the Lisbon Triennale, the Rotterdam studio presents its peculiar working method, based on a solid research around the optimization of spaces and the future of cities.
Along with architecture and urban planning, it develops visionary conceptual models in installations such as Freeland (Venice Biennale, 2012). Since MVRDV´s founding in 1991, the studio has revealed an innovative way to resolve functional challenges, traceable in the senior residency WoZoCo (1997) and at the housing unit Silodam (2003), among others.
After the conference, Jacob van Rijs will start a conversation with Diogo Burnay, where welcome the audience to participate with questions.
