Congress: The 1st Congress of the American Association of Urban History

"The 1st Congress of the American Association of Urban History (AIHU) will be held in Santiago, Chile, on 23, 24 and 25 November 2016 in the Andrés Bello Campus of the University of Chile and the Campus Lo Count the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. This meeting will kick off the regular academic meetings AIHU, created in the context of the Third International Conference on Urban History, meeting in Brasilia between 25 and 30 November 2013.
This time the academic community are invited to discuss the theme "Cities in time: infrastructure, territory, property". With this call, it is expected to cover the study of cities in its temporal context in two complementary ways. First researchers that investigate the problematic analysis of cities and the urban world is summoned in his capacity as the subject of studies for widely understood urban history, considering its various scales ranging from architectural spaces to large dimensions territory. On the other hand is expected to stimulate the inclusion of reflections to consider the problem over time implies for cities as material object, exploring the conditions of physical deterioration and its assessment as equity, with the understanding that urgent concern architectural, urban and territorial culture implies for Latin American cities today. In both senses mentioned the 1st Congress of the American Association of Urban History it aims to host the debate on current issues and problems of research to help explain a state of the art of the latest developments in these fields of study.
