DOCOMOMO has four International Specialist Committees comprised of specialists in modern architecture, theory and landscape.
ISC/Registers
ISC/Technology
ISC/Urbanism+LandscapeISC/Education+Theory
They work under the supervision of
DOCOMOMO International.
ISC/Registers
The
DOCOMOMO ISC/Registers was created to engage national/regional chapters in the documentation of modern buildings and sites. Its mission is the development of an inventory of modern architecture, including both outstanding individual buildings and ‘everyday’ examples.
Provisionally you can find the guidelines for the fiches at
ISC/Registers.
ISC/Technology
The mission of the ISC/Technology is to promote documentation and conservation through studies of, and research into, technology, and into the material qualities of modern architecture. The committee organizes seminars; it also supports and participates in workshops related to the technology of modern buildings.
More information on Members, Seminars and Publications can be found in the following document.
ISC/Urbanism+Landscape
The mission of the
ISC/Urbanism+Landscape is to promote research, documentation and protection of modern ensembles and environments, as opposed to individual ‘setpiece’ monuments. In practice, our current work focuses almost exclusively on research and documentation.
ISC/Education + Theory
The
ISC/Education+Theory organized the first
DOCOMOMO International student workshop in Ataköy, Istanbul in 2006, during the 9th International Docomomo conference; it was followed by the second
DOCOMOMO workshop, focused on the Lijnbaan, Rotterdam, in 2008 (at the 10th International
DOCOMOMO conference). The third workshop took place in Mexico in August 2010 during the 11th
DOCOMOMO conference. The fourth workshop will take place in Espoo, Finland, in August 2012, at the 12th
DOCOMOMO conference.
